Building Engineers' Planning Tender

In accordance with the traditions started in 2006, we will continue the building engineers' planning tender.

The Building Engineer Division of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Hungarian Building Engineers' Coordination Alliance, in connection with the event "Hungarian Building Engineer's Day 2011", and in accordance with the past years, calls also this year for a public planning tender for building engineer planners in two categories. The experiences of the past years confirmed that interest has been high within the planners for the participation on the building engineers planning tender.

Topic of the Planning Tender

The building engineering planning of an outstanding technical standard development which has been implemented or planned in the last two years.

Purpose of the Planning Tender

- Observation of the recently commenced or completed modern systems and facilities in the field of building engineering, the acknowledgement and popularization of outstanding planning work, the evaluation of young planners' work product.
- To seek the best planning solution and planner, whose work was completed in the last years in accordance with the modern requirements.

Conditions of the Planning Tender

The planned building engineer system should contain modern solutions (environmentally-friendly, low energy consumption, renewable energy); the devices included in the planning should have Hungarian licenses.
One planner may apply with only one plan.

The application plan has to contain a complete building engineering plan of a development commenced or finished between 2009-11 of a high technical standard.

Application Material

1. Description of the planned building engineering system, highlighting the modern building engineer solutions and the current status of the construction. Maximum length: 4 pages of A/4.
2. Plan documentation: 1 copy of specification and a plan sheet containing maximum 5 substantial pieces of information.
3. Tender argumentation on maximum 2 pages, describing why the applicant considers the planned solution as modern and outstanding.
4. CV with photo listing the major works.

The written material shall be submitted in a bound and aesthetic form together with the plan sheets.

Calling of the Planning Tender

The tender is announced on the website of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (www.mmk.hu, www.e-gepesz.hu), in professional magazines and on professional websites, and on the independent website of the event (www.talalkozzunk.hu).

The Nature of the Planning Tender

The planning tender has a standard procedure, concerning the scope of the participants it is open, and anybody who is interested may submit a tender work. The form of the tender is public.

Deadline for the Submission of the Tender

midnight 10 November 2011

Type and Location of the Tender's Submission

The tender application shall be submitted via post or in person in a sealed envelope with the indication "Building Engineer Division" to the office of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers located at 1094 Budapest, Angyal utca 1-3. II. floor.

Judging Committee

The tender applications will be judged by the Appraisal Committee of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers Building Engineer Division by November 30. The Appraisal Committee shall make its decision regarding the winner by unanimous decision.

Condition precedent for the success of the tender in each category is the arrival of at least four tender applications.

Prizes of the Tender Applications

In each category the top three placed winners will receive a Hungarian Chamber of Engineers certificate and the winner will receive the prize offered by the Castle Hotel Puchner.

Announcement of Results

The winning tender applications will be announced on 2 December 2011 on the Hungarian Building Engineers' Day, in the "K" Building of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics after the presentations of the applicants.

Presentation of the Tender Applications

The top three placed winner tender applications in each category will be presented on 2 December 2011 on the Hungarian Building Engineers' Day in the form of presentations by the planner and by its co-planner industrial and professional partner offering the new professional solutions. There is also a possibility to publish the tender application in the form of a professional article.

Handing Over of the Prizes

The prizes for the winning tender applications will be handed over during the Building Engineers Ball organized in the evening of the Hungarian Building Engineers' Day.
